Mud Mud Mud Mud!

100km London to Brighton Challenge 2014

On the 24th and 25th of May 2014, my friend Claire Hawkins (1585) and myself, Louise Miller (1633) took part in the 2014 100km London to Brighton Challenge. We were fully prepared with hard training of over 100 hours from February to May.

Nothing could have prepared us for the endless kms of mud mud and more mud, especially after months of sunshine during training. With no sleep and just a few rest stops to clean off mud and take on much needed food, the only thing keeping us going was knowing how much each of us is raising for our charities. We finally reached Brighton racecourse 33 hours after we started!

My charity is the Sutton and Croydon MS Therapy Centre, who provide my mum and dad such amazing care and support. It was knowing that I was directly raising funds to help her and so many who use the centre that kept me going, putting one foot in front of the other, all the way to Brighton.

I have never, nor will again, face a challenge like this one. Words just cannot explain the extreme conditions we faced and we are just so proud to have completed the event.
I am proud to have raised a total of £2,759 to date. If you would like to still sponsor me, you can do so by following the link below.
