The Ryan MS Therapy Centre takes very seriously its responsibilities for the safety and welfare of its staff, users, volunteers and the organisation as a whole. Criminal records will be taken into account only when the conviction is relevant. Declaring a conviction will not prevent you from being considered for a staff role. Unless the nature of the work demands it, you will not be asked to disclose convictions which are ‘spent’ under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. However, there are certain roles within RMSTC which are exempt from the terms of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and for these you are required to disclose all criminal convictions including those which are ‘spent’. Consideration for these roles will be subject to a satisfactory criminal records check and POVA/POCA check with the Criminal Records Bureau before the appointment is confirmed. This check will require details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings as well as convictions. We will contact you if further information is required.
